just letting my mind wander here.

i seem to have way too many different styles. a question to those who watch me: which style do you like the most? do you like the vectors? the collages of lithographs? the colorful composites of old paintings?

random thought- i never really liked it when people make vectors the lazy way (filters, copying lines, etc). i always thought it was cheap. but now i notice that some high-quality designers not only use these tactics, but condone them. [link] i honestly don't know if it is bad or not anymore. maybe its just personal preference.

i have now resolved to stop bashing twilight and hanah montanah and other crap like that for two reasons.

#1. making fun of it is now a cliché. almost everyone has already done it.

#2. i am not its intended demographic. it is not being marketed toward me and therefore i should not be complaining about how bad it is.

dont worry though. that japanese artistic abortion known as "anime" is still game for rants.

for example-

all japanese anime artists are creepy perverts. this is evidenced by the fact that almost all female lead roles are taken up by girls that look fresh out of junior high school, yet have gravity defying triple D breasts.

tattoos of Chinese, Japanese, or Korean characters are retarded. you obviously wouldn't get a tattoo that said "strength" in English, now would you? so obviously you have no reason to have this tattoo other than because its "foreign" and that makes you "deep". also, nothing makes you look stupider than asking for a tattoo of your initials in Chinese. the Chinese language has over 6000 characters. why? because it is based off of actions and objects, not syllables (except for nu shu, centered in the district of hunan.) and the none of the characters stand for letters in the English language. unless your name is actually Chinese, asking for your name to be written in Chinese is inherently retarded. also, getting a tattoo of some word in Chinese is the equivalent of hitting the "demo" button on a keyboard. you are not unique, you are not creative, and nobody will praise you for it.

i never really understood what the point of Digg is. whats the point? it seems that you are simply linking to other websites and other articles. am i wrong? is there something else involved here?

i dont understand twitter either. it seems to combine the incoherency and inanity of instant messaging with the indirection of blogging.

also, astronomy kicks ass. not that whole weak-ass looking at stars and naming them bullshit, but shit like black holes warping time and hypernovas firing planet destroying lazer beams and antimatter blowing up shit. fuck yeah.

your work is incredible - i've no idea why you'd want to get rid of any of your styles :)
:iconragingcephalopod:
i don't want to get rid of any of my styles, i just want to see which one is enjoyed the most.

A couple things:

1. Thanks for the fave, it's appreciated. When I get to the "r"'s I'll return the favor more than a few times I imagine (I have 825 watched and I'm going down the list alphabetically as I was away for a while) but what I have seen is pretty good stuff. I like your style(s).

2. I think your just blunt as opposed to being a full on "big fucking jerk", lol. I see that the icon and blurb just changed, still, I think some people may need a punch to the face. I commented to the "victim" of your critique (in your journal - for those just tuning in) and think that it was brutally honest, but accurate.

3. I too am accused of being an asshole, and although guilty at times... I think everyone here needs to realize that a critique is not a personal attack, there is always room for growth, and some people need to grow up of get off the internet until they get a little emotional maturity.

Anyway man, keep up the good work, and don't lose your rough edges.
